Drill House doors now open for COVID-19 safe artistic residencies

As the world begins to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic, the focus for SeaChange for the next 12 months is set on supporting artists and the sector during these difficult times through creation residencies – providing opportunities for artists to develop and create new work, by giving access to rehearsal and training space at the Drill House.

SeaChange are encouraging artists to get back to creation to ensure there is a body of work readily available to tour once the festival and arts industry recuperates and social distancing restrictions have subsided.

The Drill House staff have adapted facilities and upgraded artist’s living quarters to make the space as welcoming and safe as possible.

Applications are now open for artists that work in outdoor arts and circus, and those that work in other disciplines who are keen to work collaboratively with or extend their practice into these art forms.

In the first instance, we are considering enquiries from solo artists, duos or small companies already working in their own bubble, within government guidelines.

SeaChange Arts values diversity, promotes equality and challenges discrimination. Encouraging and welcoming submissions from people across all cultural and social backgrounds and actively seek applications from those currently underrepresented in the arts community; particularly people of colour, people identifying as LGBTQ, D/deaf and disabled people (as defined by the Equality Act 2010).

SeaChange are also keen to work with artists who are interested in establishing a strong developmental partnerships and are committed to developing work of the highest standard and open to input and advice from early in the creation process.
