Finance Manager

Drill House Staff

We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as Finance Manager. We are particularly keen to hear from applicants with skills and experience in the arts and charity organisations.

The Finance Manager is a senior manager role, supporting the Executive Director and Chief Executive with presenting to the Finance Committee, ensuring clarity and transparency across all financial reporting, including preparing monthly management and year-end accounts and ensuring statutory and Charity Commission requirements are fulfilled.

Supervising the Bookkeeper, a hands-on approach is needed to oversee all financial records as necessary. For more information, please see the following documents:

Festival & Event Production Assistant

Kickstart Scheme

Out There Arts currently has some fantastic paid employment opportunities available for young people looking to take their first steps into a career in our sector and we’d be delighted if you could share this opportunity with anyone you think it’s relevant to that you know.

As part of the government’s Kickstart scheme, the roles are available to anybody aged 16-24 and in receipt of Universal Credit and young people can apply by visiting their local job centre and speaking to their Work Coach and referencing the job title.

  • Festival & Event Production Assistant – Application deadline 12 noon, Friday 21st May 2021, with interviews taking place on Thursday 28th May and the post starting on 1st June 2021.

We’re working in partnership with Charityworks, the UK-non-profit sector’s Kickstart gateway as part of a collaborative effort to power up our sector with exceptional talent and make a real impact on youth unemployment.  So as part of their paid job at Out There Arts successful applicants will also take part in a supported 6-month development offer delivered by Charityworks. The programme will equip the young person with the connections, experiences, tools and insight needed to succeed in their day job, and will also help them to build a peer community, and skills to transition well beyond the placement, and develop long term careers in the non-profit sector.

We’re really excited that we’re able to offer these opportunities and would be pleased if you were able to share this with anybody you think it might be relevant to.

Drill House Staff

Want to work with Out There Arts?

Out There are dedicated to delivering outstanding circus and street arts events and opportunities, including the Out There International Festival of Circus & Street Arts.

Following around £1m of work on our Drill House building in Great Yarmouth, courtesy of investment from Arts Council England, the Drill House is set to become a leading international centre for circus and street arts creation as well as a vital community hub.   We’re on the look-out for a people to help us develop our team and a range of exciting projects.

We’re looking for the following roles on casual and freelance contracts:

CIRCUS & PERFORMANCE TUTORS

We’re keen to expand our team of tutors, so if you are a circus tutor, or you work in a related field, (dance, theatre, gymnastics) who’d like to get involved in circus, we’d love to hear from you.

CIRCUS RIGGERS & TECHNICIANS

Experienced circus riggers and lighting and audio crew to support events and residencies at the Drill House.

ARTISTS, MAKERS & FABRICATORS

We’ll be expanding our work creating fabulous festival décor, delivering creative workshops, and building crazy contraptions.   If you’re an artist, maker or fabricator who’d like to get involved in the world of street arts, we’d love to hear from you!

CASUAL EVENT & OPERATIONAL STAFF

We’re looking for outgoing, enthusiastic and flexible Drill House crew members to staff and set up events and residencies, building operations, support event publicity and look after audiences and visitors at the Drill House.

We're seeking new Trustees

Join the Out There Board

Out There Arts is recruiting new board members to join the charity as we enter our 21st year in 2019. Out There is an independent arts development charity, dedicated to delivering outstanding opportunities for artists and communities through supporting, hosting and delivering circus and street arts projects and events in Great Yarmouth, the UK and beyond.

Out There’s Mission is “to provide transformational opportunities for artists and communities by supporting, hosting and delivering world class international circus and street art projects and events”.

Out There’s Vision  is “to aspire to create in Great Yarmouth an International Centre of Excellence for circus and street arts creation, training and delivery, to be a UK and European leader in development of the sector and the UK”s main gateway to Europe”.

Indoor circus performance

We are seeking exceptional individuals with strategic vision and an interest in the arts. We are particularly keen to hear from applicants with skills and experience in the following areas:

  • Energy and renewables
  • Law
  • Finance and accountancy
  • PR, marketing and audience development
  • Education and training
  • Leisure and tourism
  • Business and commercial development
  • International community
  • Arts at a national/international level

Candidates should be willing to commit to attending four board meetings per year, with additional committee and advisory work as appropriate.

Meetings are held in Great Yarmouth, usually at 5.30pm.

This is a voluntary role, but reasonable out-of-pocket expenses can be covered.
