About Out There Arts

National Centre for Outdoor Arts and Circus

ABOUT OUT THERE ARTS.
Out There Arts is an independent arts development charity that is based in Great Yarmouth, but collaborates with artists worldwide. We are dedicated to delivering outstanding opportunities for artists and communities through supporting, hosting, and delivering circus and street arts projects and events.
The Drill House is our home, engine room and a multi-tool asset in enacting our cultural vision for Great Yarmouth and a National Centre for Outdoor Arts and Circus. Formerly home to the 2nd Volunteer Battalion Norfolk Regiment, we adopted it in 2012 and have turned it into a true cultural powerhouse through various capital projects over the years.
Throughout the year, we work on a number of projects, sometimes intimate, sometimes immense – but always inspirational!
Much of this work is showcased each year at the Out There Festival. Produced by Out There Arts, Out There is now the region’s largest free festival of street arts and circus and regularly attracts audiences in excess of 60,000 people.
Our focus on Circus and Street Arts grows naturally from this great Yarmouth’s rich performance heritage, providing an accessible medium to support our work. We deliver an arts development function for Great Yarmouth Borough Council, developing the town as an International Centre of Excellence for circus and street arts creation, training and delivery.
We’re an Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation, which means funding thanks to taxpayers plays a huge part in supporting our work.
