Out There Arts National centre for outdoor arts and circus

What is a Climate Cafe?

A Climate Cafe is a welcoming space where people can meet to talk about Climate Change. Everyone is invited to bring their ideas and come up with solutions to tackle the pressing issue. The actions that result from discussion will be community-led by the local people who attend.

Talks

We are hosting informal discussions, involving artists, producers and local creatives to explore environmental sustainability in everyday life and within the cultural community.

Last year we invited artists from Circus Katoen to talk about their show, Grasshoppers. They discussed how their ecological principles play an important role in their daily lives and work.

Talking points

On the tables there will be menus with talking points. The hope is that these questions will make people think and encourage discussion with people they might not usually interact with.

Get Involved!

We are looking for green initiatives or activists to get involved. If you are a green initiative you can have a stall for free (we can provide tables and chairs) for you to promote your initiative to the 60,000 people that come to Out There Festival. You are also welcome to sell your wares e.g. bird boxes, bug hotels. Or maybe you would like to do an activity such as a litter pick challenge. If you are an activist, young or old, we would love for you to do a speech, host a discussion or facilitate a workshop.

If you have any questions please email Jacob Hewes, jacob@outtherearts.org.uk
