Julia and Kaavous run originalprojects;, an arts organisation in Great Yarmouth, bringing people together through exhibitions, workshops, public art, festivals like YARMONICS (a sound festival), and even podcasts, walking tours, and feasts. They also run PRIMEYARC in the former Debenhams in Market Gates, a community arts hub with exhibitions, artist studios, and creative spaces. Additionally, they helped start OUTPOST, an artist-run gallery in Norwich, in 2004.
Julia studied Sculpture, Dressmaking, and Cultural Politics, and enjoys exploring the intersection of fashion, art, and style, as well as ideas around power, access, and creativity.
Kaavous studied Architecture and Visual Studies, focusing on design, materials, and spatial relationships. His work explores smart design, modularity, and efficient use of materials, while creating spaces for artists and local communities to collaborate.
Together, they support local artists and help bring creative ideas to life, with a deep appreciation for working in Place. They believe in creativity’s power to inspire pride, belonging, generosity, and abundance—showing Great Yarmouth some love.
