What is the Young Out There Collective?
Young Out There Collective (YOTC) is a volunteer group of 7 – 25 year olds who are passionate about championing arts, culture and creativity in the Borough of Great Yarmouth. YOTC offers inspirational experiences for young people engaging them in the local community, schools, colleges and other youth groups and centres. Whether they aspire to pursue a career in the arts or simply enjoy engaging in creative pursuits as a hobby, members of YOTC will play a vital role in shaping the cultural landscape. Through their involvement in various projects, events, and initiatives, they can contribute fresh perspectives, innovative ideas, and boundless enthusiasm.
What to expect
The collective have regular in-person and online meetings, training sessions, creative workshops. This gives them the opportunity to collaborate, develop the skills and knowledge to enable them to produce and promote creative events, workshops, activities, screenings, gigs and exhibitions. It also provides a platform for young people to express their creativity and showcase their talent as part of Out There Festival and the wider Out There Arts events programme.
Opportunities
- Produce, promote and manage creative events
- Collaborate with local, national, national, international artists on dynamic projects
- Learn and develop new creative skills alongside professional artists
- Enhance your CV and learn more about creative careers and industries
- Record and document projects through film, photography, blog posts, podcasts and radio broadcasts – as part of the Young Comms Team
- Network and meet like-minded individuals
- Become an ambassador of youth arts and cultural development in Norfolk and Suffolk.
Aims and Objectives
- Foster creativity and cultural engagement among children and young people throughout the Borough of Great Yarmouth
- Provide a platform for young people to learn, explore, express and connect with various artforms.
- To be a catalyst for positive change in the local community
- To develop young leaders passionate about arts, culture, community and creative industries
- To be a welcoming and accessible safe space, championing diversity and inclusion in the work that we deliver
