Out There Arts National centre for outdoor arts and circus

We are excited to announce that the Drillaz Circus School will be setting up a Youth Board, which will be run by the Drillaz Students with guidance and training provided by the Out There Arts Team!

First Meeting: Friday 9th February, 5-6:30pm @ The Drill House

Full details on the initiative will be coming soon but Students can expect to be involved in a wide range of activities including:

  • The planning and delivery of major Drillaz performances at the Out There Festival, Fire on the Water, and the Christmas Fundraiser
  • Planning of Drillaz Circus School trips to performances and other Circus School e.g. Hippodrome Circus (Great Yarmouth) and The National Centre for Circus Arts (London)
  • Influence of the class curriculum e.g. request Masterclasses from Circus Professionals including Q&As
  • Career Days – Finding out what it takes to be a Professional Circus Performer and other roles in the industry such as Artistic Directors, Producers, Technical Managers, Technicians, Riggers etc.
  • And much more!

All Drillaz Students aged 8-18 are invited to join the Youth Board and participant in discussions and activities that will help shape how the School is run e.g. curriculum, performances, masterclasses. Students will receive training in Youth Voice and have opportunities to attend Festivals and Conferences. They will also learn important aspects of running a not-for-profit Youth Group e.g. finding out about fundraising.

Light refreshments, including hot and cold drinks, a selection of snacks and pizza will be available. Parents/Guardians are welcome stay and accompany their child/children to the meeting.
