Come join us for a fun and colourful flag dance workshops in preparation for the community parade at the Out There Festival.
The movements created will feed into the Community Parade at the Out There Festival. You will be joined by a high-energy Samba Band, the African Choir of Norfolk and the rhythmic Troupe de Dance. No dance experience needed! These workshops are designed for everyone, including those who are neurodivergent and learning disabled.
Beach of Dreams
During Out There Festival 2025, we will host the finale of the Beach of Dreams project - A UK-wide coastal arts festival exploring the unique heritage, cultures, and futures of our coastlines in the face of the climate emergency. The project is led by Kinetika, who specialise in flag making, large-scale installations and mass-participation parades.
At the Festival our Artistic Commission will be the Beach of Dreams Village, which will include a host of circus, dance, and music performance, alongside giant bamboo art installations, and sustainable workshops.
In addition, we are working with Dance Choreographer Charlene Low to devise movements using Kinetika’s silk pennant flags for a Parade and Opening Ceremony, that will feature dance schools, local community groups, and London based Samba Band Kinetika Bloco. There will also be a Closing Ceremony involving dance schools and community groups, as well as, the African Choir of Norfolk and South African Dance Collective – Troupe de Dance.
