A free programme for young people aged 11-18 (up to 25 for those with SEND) which encourages participation in culture and creativity through doing making and creating.
Come down to The Drill House from 1pm-5pm to hang out and get involved with activities. There will be creative workshops, games, circus, crafts and more - so there will be something for everyone. If you would rather bring your own thing to do or just chill with your friends, that is totally fine too.
No need to book - just turn up!

Stop-motion Animation Workshop
Create and animate your own character inspired by the Winter Gardens illustrious past. We will be creating and animating colourful characters based on the people who visited and performed at the Winter Gardens. Using archival materials such as postcards and photographs as reference, to create 2D stop-motion cut out figures with coloured paper, funky foam, markers pens and other bits and bobs.

Live Animation Workshop
Participants will also get the opportunity to try Tagtool, which transforms your tablet or smart device into a live art instrument. Connect a projector to paint with light, create spontaneous animations or tell improvised stories.

Rotoscope Workshop
Create animated sequences of the Winter Gardens frame by frame. Make your imaginations come to life through illustrating photos and stitching them together.
