The Ice House - the Coolest building in town

The Ice House is an important part of Great Yarmouth’s colourful history, where the introduction of ice allowed fresh fish to be available across the country for the first time.

This had a profound effect on Great Yarmouth’s economy and helped define the town’s future for decades to come.

Unravel the history of this curious building, explore the clever mechanics of how it once operated and did it pave way for the invention of the fish finger?
