Stomping Ground! Animation Workshop

Parkour workshop

A free programme for young people aged 11-18 (up to 25 for those with SEND) which encourages participation in culture and creativity through doing making and creating.

Come down to Charter Academy from 5pm-7pm to hang out and get involved with activities. There will be creative workshops, games, circus, crafts and more - so there will be something for everyone. If you would rather bring your own thing to do or just chill with your friends, that is totally fine too.

Two sessions will be running at the same time, one in Helsden Hall and one in the Music Room. You can enter through the back gate on Beaconsfield Road. What3words///piano.dare.types.

If you are coming for the first time and don't know where to go, please email hello@outtherearts.org.uk beforehand with the time you are arriving and we will meet you at the gate.

Stop Motion Animation Workshop

Create and animate your own character inspired by the Winter Gardens illustrious past. We will be creating and animating colourful characters based on the people who visited and performed at the Winter Gardens. Using archival materials such as postcards and photographs as reference, to create 2D stop-motion cut out figures with coloured paper, funky foam, markers pens and other bits and bobs.

Live Animation Workshop

Participants will also get the opportunity to try Tagtool, which transforms your tablet or smart device into a live art instrument. Connect a projector to paint with light, create spontaneous animations or tell improvised stories.

Rotoscoping Workshops

Create animated sequences of the Winter Gardens frame by frame. Make your imaginations come to life through illustrating photos and stitching them together.
