Workshops

People playing African Drums

Drumming Workshop

2pm-4pm

Experience the excitement and fun of African drumming, with genuine West African hand drums and percussion! We'll learn basic drumming techniques and learn some simple West African rhythms, as well as playing some drumming games and having a go at making up our own rhythms. We'll work towards ending the session with a small performance, everyone playing together.

Comic book drawing of sky line with character

Great Yarmouth Guardians

11am-4pm

Create your own superhero that will form part of a large comic book mural. Set in a post-apocalyptic Great Yarmouth our heroes battle to save the planet from environmental disaster. During the workshops we will explore character creation, storytelling and additional skills like drawing scenery. At the end of summer the mural will be shown at the Marina Leisure Centre.

Colourful plastic litter

This is Rubbish

11am-4pm

The workshop will explore puppet making, storytelling, set and prop making, sound design and much more. There will also be a Beach Litter Pick at each session, with some found material being used in the design and making of the puppets. The six week programme will culminate in a FREE outdoor performance led by the Children and Young People involved in the Stomping Ground! project.
