National Centre for Outdoor Arts and Circus

MISSION.

Out There Arts’ provides transformational opportunities for artists, communities and audiences by supporting the creation and development of high quality artistic work through residencies, new commissions, community co-creations, educational and participatory programmes, and by delivering inspirational world class international Outdoor Arts & Circus events. We believe in a just and fair society where everyone has equal access to high quality arts and cultural experiences and the opportunity to freely express their creativity.  Core to our mission is community regeneration, especially in addressing challenges of extensive poverty/deprivation faced by Great Yarmouth communities and growing racial tensions.

VISION.

As a National Centre for Outdoor Arts & Circus, (managing 2 international centres of excellence - Drill House/Ice House), Out There Arts seeks to continue to grow its function and impact as an international leader in the development of a stronger, more diverse and equitable sector, and as a main gateway for import/export of culture.  Out There Arts shares the vision of Great Yarmouth as the UK Capital of Circus - transforming perceptions of the town as a safe, welcoming, vibrant, diverse, cultural destination - supporting the development of a thriving and sustainable economy with opportunities for all.

Out There Arts recognises arts and culture as catalysts for personal, cultural, social change and seeks to produce inspiring programmes that nurture talent/ creativity, open up new imaginative possibilities, build skills/capacity, support expression of voice, develop a sense of agency amongst disadvantaged communities to effect long term long-term structural and cultural change within their communities and wider world.
